Lawyers for International Development®

The alleviation of poverty around the world depends partly on building legal and institutional frameworks that create sustainable enabling environments for social, political and economic growth in developing countries. Through its Lawyers for International Development® program, Johnson Law Group provides the legal expertise for engaging with local counterparts around the world to develop the local capacity and political will for legal, regulatory and institutional reform. We offer technical assistance directly to governments, as well as to international donors and their contractors and grantees. Our core administrative and technical staff is located in Washington, D.C. Utilizing a network of more than 5,000 highly skilled lawyers and around the world, we focus on issues related to rule of law and democracy and governance reform worldwide. Clients have included a wide variety of governments and bilateral and multilateral donors, including USAID, the US Department of State, the United Nations, and others.
