Founded in 1985, Johnson Law Group offers individual and business clients a wide range of domestic and international legal services, with offices in Washington, DC and Burlington, VT. Practice areas include estate planning and administration; business law and transactions; government contracting; and general litigation. Our team maintains an international development technical assistance consulting practice, providing legal and strategic counsel as well as technical assistance to firms engaged in international development, especially on issues related to democracy and governance reform. We have provided consulting services for a variety of bilateral and multilateral donors, including USAID, the US Department of State, the United Nations, and others. Our firm's associates are highly educated and skilled legal professionals with extensive domestic and international experience and, through our Lawyers for International Development® program, we maintain a network of approximately 5,000 lawyers on whom we rely for specialized expertise. Core Staff Biographies

Bradford P. Johnson – Principal Brad Johnson heads the Johnson Law Group and engages in the general practice of law, representing a wide range of individual and business clients in civil rights, commercial, probate, property and litigation matters. Mr. Johnson is primarily responsible for business development and is the principal point of contact for the firm's clients. He advises government contracting firms on FAR compliance, human resource development, business development and other operational and transactional issues. From 2002 through 2012, he served as counsel to the plaintiff class in the landmark civil rights action Petties et al. v. District of Columbia et al.,which afforded special education students with quality educational and transportation services. Mr. Johnson also has provided international development technical assistance in legal reform, anti-corruption, governance and related issues in many countries worldwide. Mr. Johnson received his undergraduate degree from Middlebury College, a Master's from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst, and his Juris Doctor from Antioch School of Law. He also studied at the graduate level at Moscow's Pushkin Institute (Russian studies) and George Mason University (conflict resolution). Mr. Johnson serves on the boards of the Capitol Hill Business Improvement District, the Institute of World Affairs, the Capitol Hill Association of Merchants and Professionals (CHAMPS), and the Small Business Association for International Companies. He is a member of the the Society for International Development, Institute of Current World Affairs, Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility, and the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce. He also is a member of the D.C. and Vermont bar associations, and speaks Russian and conversational Spanish. Mr. Johnson and his family divide their time between Starksboro, Vermont and Washington, D.C.
Erika Greene – Associate Attorney Erika Greene is an associate attorney and has primary responsibility for the firm's litigation practice. She works out of the Washington, DC office and has experience with complex litigation, family law claims, special education claims, property disputes and probate cases. She is licensed to practice in the District of Columbia and Maryland and has been involved in multiple pro bono matters, including representing clients in the District of Columbia Superior Court and before the DC Office of Administrative Hearings. Ms. Greene is a member of the DC Women's Bar Association and the Maryland State Bar Association. Ms. Greene graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice, where she was a Dean's scholar. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of the District of Columbia School of Law and has also studied internationally at the University of Florence School of Law. While in law school, Ms. Greene participated in the Juvenile and Special Education Clinic and the Family Law Clinic representing residents of the District of Columbia.
Cielo Mendoza – Attorney
Cielo Mendoza works in the firm’s Burlington, VT office and handles a range of civil litigation and transactional matters.  Ms. Mendoza received her Master of Studies in Environmental Law and Juris Doctor Degrees from Vermont Law School.  She served as a law clerk for the Vermont Office of the Attorney General as well as the United States Department of Justice.  She is currently a member of the Vermont, New Jersey and Pennsylvania Bars.   She has experience in a variety of legal matters including general civil litigation, family law, criminal and juvenile defense, environmental law and business transactions.  When she is not in the office, she can be found practicing yoga, skiing and spending time with her family in Fletcher, Vermont.  Ms. Mendoza is also a volunteer Reparative Board Member at the St. Albans Community Justice Center.
Jackie Parker – Paralegal Jackie Parker has provided paralegal support for Johnson Law Group for more than a decade, especially with regard to the Petties litigation. Previously, Ms. Parker worked for over 25 years in the United States Senate, 18 of which were with U.S. Senator David Pryor (D-AR). She is also a former Clinton administration political appointee to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, where she served as executive assistant to the Administrator of the Rural Utilities Services. She retired from the federal government in 2000 with 32 years of service.
Tierra Jones – Research Associate
Tierra Jones is a Research Associate at Johnson Law Group, where she provides office management, client research and litigation support. A recent graduate of Delaware State University with a degree in Criminal Justice, Ms. Jones was born and raised in Washington, DC. She is an active member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, and recently returned to Washington to pursue a career in the legal profession.
Nathaniel Goodman-Johnson – Research Associate
Nathaniel Goodman-Johnson is a Research Associate at the Johnson Law Group, where he serves as a Notary Public and provides client research and litigation support. He is a full-time student at the David A. Clarke School of Law at the University of the District of Columbia. Mr. Goodman-Johnson holds a bachelor's degree in Anthropology from Washington University in St. Louis, with a specific focus on the biological and evolutionary basis for human behavior. He is a native of Washington, D.C.. Mr. Goodman-Johnson also recently completed a summer internship in Macedonia working on local government issues for a development assistance project sponsored by USAID.
